(1983-2013) K-League 30 Year Anniversary and its Records so far.
May 8th, 2013 will be a special day to all football fans in Korea. The day will mark the 30th anniversary of the K-League. The very first professional football match in Korea took place on May 8th, 1983 and during these thirty years, many records have been set. Let's take a look at some major records so far.
First Peson to score a goal:
Park Yoon-Ki (Yukong Elephants) on May 8th, 1983 against Hallelujah FC.
Number of League winning Teams: 9
So far, 20 different teams have participated in the K-League. Of these 20, 9 teams have won the league title. Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma leads with 7 and they are followed by FC Seoul with 5. Pohang Steelers, Busan I'Park, Suwon Bluewings each have 4 titles. Jeonbuk Motors and Ulsan Hyundai follow with 2 each and the remaining teams, Jeju United and Hallelujah FC each have 1 title.
Most Winning Team: Ulsan Hyundai.
Ever since gaining their first win in 1984, Ulsan has had 430 wins. This is more than any other K-League clubs and Ulsan became the first Korean club to have over 400 wins on July. 26th, 2011 against Gangwon FC.
Number of Foreign Players All-Time: 608 (49 currently)
So far, 608 foreign players have played in the K-League. Of these 608, four have naturalized as Korean citizens. These players are Shin Eui-Son, Denis Laktionov, Lee Sa-Vik, and Radivoje Manić.
Players By Country: Brazil (302), Yugoslavia (34), Russia (24), Croatia (20), Serbia and Montenegro (14), Romania(13), Austrailia (16), Japan (15), China (7), and 163 others.
Most Appearances by a Player: 615 appearances by Kim Byung-Ji (goalkeeper)
Position Player: 501 by Kim Gi-Dong
Top Scoring Team: Pohang Steelers with 1423 goals. FC Seoul follows with 1411.

Number of Goals Scored: 13,342 goals have been scored so far.
